Artist Sarkis Antikajian demonstrates how to paint a figure from life starting with a blank canvas and ending with the finished painting. In this video you view the complete process and he comments on his paints and process while he is painting. His representational paintings, influenced by Russian Impression, have a sketch-like gestural quality and he is known for his use of color. He starts with a sketch done with a brush and instead of working in one area at a time, he adds paint in various parts of the canvas while he works. Most of his figure paintings are 40”x 32” and completed in less than three hours. This oil painting is 24”x 30" because his time was limited.
