Artists seem to love sunny days to paint. Personally, I love overcast days such as today. The way I see it the sun bleaches the colors. It is true that you will have a wide range of values  on sunny days, nevertheless I see this wide range to be extreme or abrupt with very little in between. Where as in an overcast days the values are spread out gradually and colors are vivid. That’s why I like overcast days because I love to see vivid colors and as far as values are concerned I like to pick and choose what I like to do in my painting and how far to push these values to suit me or my painting regardless what I see in real life.
