Restricting myself to any three colors as in the use of the triad in this series, may be taken as a way to simplify the process, yet, in my case it complicates it. For one, the colors I am using are not familiar, and to quickly decide, which color combinations, make a colorful dark, or which combinations make a satisfactory colorful light, in the process, may not be easy. This is especially important for me in acrylic, to keep the fluid looking surface quality that I prefer and not get the stodgy look that may result through indecision and changing my mind as the paint dries up.
