I enjoy doing these experimental works. It’s a bit trickier doing them in oils and in one go than doing them in acrylics, wherein one can use layers one over another to change any offensive passage or even repaint the whole picture. With oils every brushstroke can shift the composition unpredictably, and that’s where intuition comes in handy to be able to ascertain quickly that the situation is promising or that it is descending into chaos. Then the question is how to proceed and when to stop and call it done.
