I am still trying to figure out how to deal with the acrylic medium doing representational work, especially on rough textured canvas, to get an outcome that I really get excited about, and one that doesn’t have a tired overworked look. Paint dries on the canvas and on the palette quickly which makes achieving fluidity a major challenge. Besides, color values that you start with are not what you end up with when dry. Like any worthwhile activity, it take a lot practice.
