Abstracting a familiar subject may result in a confusing picture to someone who needs clear representation of a subject in a painting for satisfaction. Sometimes even vivid colors or certain harmonies may be disturbing to some. Yet for me to experiment in this manner can be very satisfying—simply brings out my impression of the subject in exaggerated colors and general shapes of the subject as a whole, without relying on detail delineating the subject in the real. Style in my opinion is the color choices the artist makes, composition preferences, and how close or how far from reality does the artist prefer, and what type of subjects the artist prefers to paint or draw.
